Planning a meeting in Las Vegas or attending a convention in Las Vegas and having to organize satellite events?
Destination Primm
Roughly 40 miles south of Las Vegas sits the petite community of Primm. Located on Interstate 15 in Clark County, at the border of Nevada and California, this area is also commonly called “State Line.” However, to avoid confusion with Stateline located in northern Nevada, it was renamed in 1996 after the original developer of the city, casino owner Ernest Jay Primm.

Those heading from Southern California to Las Vegas or vice versa will often include Primm in their journey for a first or last chance to try their luck at gambling at one of the three casinos. However, it has long been discussed to build a super train line which would connect the two regions and thereby further Primm’s significance as an element of the total Las Vegas experience. The train proposal has much support from area residents on each side of the state line but money has not yet been allocated to start construction. Until then, Primm is likely to remain a little-known destination with big-city amenities. Be the first to discover all that Primm has to offer before this quite area gains the popularity that the future is sure to bring.

Primm Valley Resort and Casino, Buffalo Bill’s Resort and Casino, and Whiskey Pete’s Hotel and Casino comprise Primm’s options for overnight accommodations. Primm often finds itself supplying the needed hotel accommodations for tradeshow attendees when Strip and Downtown hotels have hit capacity, thus introducing the territory to hundreds of people who had yet to discover the appeal of the community. With more than 2,500 rooms combined, Primm can also be a stand-alone venue for small or large meetings and events.

Primm Valley Resort boasts more than 600 affordable rooms, a 46,100 square foot casino with more than 900 slot machines, 32 table games, a 78-seat race and sports book, a keno lounge, numerous restaurants as well as a food court and martini bar. The Spa at Primm and the newly remodeled fitness center give the feel of a private country club without the typically attached price tag. Shoppers can visit The Fashion Outlet mall which is conveniently connected to the main casino floor.

The western-themed Buffalo Bills Resort and Casino combines Old West style with New West fun. The hotel opened in 1994 on 55 acres immediately north of Primm Valley Resort and Casino and the northbound exit ramp for I-15. It boasts two towers and 1,242 guest rooms and suites, 46,000 square feet of casino space, which includes slots, table games and a poker room, the Desperado (one of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world), the Turbo Drop, the Maxflight Cyber Coaster, the Adventure Canyon Log Flume Ride, a variety of restaurants, a state-of-the-art video arcade and the 6,000-seat Star of the Desert Arena.

Known by some visitors as the “Castle in the Desert,” Whiskey Pete’s is reminiscent of an 1800’s mining town with rumors indicating that Ol’ Whiskey Pete himself is buried on the property. Two castle towers holding 777 rooms and suites, headliner entertainment, fabulous restaurants, and a water slide give guests all they need for an action-packed day.
