Las Vegas, NV – August 7, 2009 – The Las Vegas Territory announced its 2009-2011 board roster in August, 2009. The Las Vegas Territory, which was established in 1983 by the Nevada Commission of Tourism and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors’ Authority, promotes non-gaming tourism in the Las Vegas Valley. The 2009-2011 board includes 11 members from various industries in Las Vegas who were selected by a voting process.<br />

Accepting the position of Chairman is Teri Laursen, the tourism director of the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas. Laursen will be returning as Chairman, having served on the last board. Serving as Vice Chair is Joni Moss, who works in client relations for Las Vegas Wedding Connection. The Associate Publisher of Meeting Planner Resources LLC - Meetings and Events Las Vegas Magazine, Jennifer Mahar Mulder, accepted the position of director, as did Charlene Ham, a special events coordinator for the City of Henderson. Also assuming Director positions are Berry Berlin, an account executive at Las Vegas Magazine, Shelly Stepanek from Stagedreams, Ltd. and Jay Hoey from CreativEdge Marketing. Laurie Higgins from Margaritaville will serve as the secretary and Ginny Gottfredson, a sales manager at Lake Mead Cruises, will serve as the treasurer. Connie M. Mancillas from the Southern Nevada Commission on Tourism and Diana McAdams from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors’ Authority will serve as advisors. <br />

Chairman Teri Laursen expressed her sincere excitement for the incoming board when she said, “I am very excited to begin another term as Chair of the Las Vegas Territory. We have several seasoned board members returning bringing years of experience in the hospitality industry and the Las Vegas Territory, as well as new board members coming in with new perspectives. The combination will be dynamic as we move this association forward.” Through Laursen’s statement members and prospective members alike can get an idea of what they can expect from the incoming 2009-2011 Las Vegas Territory Board.<br />
