Meeting Planner Resources Fall Event Benefits Southern Nevada Families

Las Vegas, Nevada – September 29, 2009 – Meeting Planner Resources, LLC held its fall event on Thursday September 24, 2009 to unveil the third edition of its magazine, Meetings and Events Las Vegas. The event was held at MiX in Las Vegas located inside The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. Guests included meeting planners and industry suppliers who were brought together for a chance to network and conceptualize future business ventures. The event featured an elaborate raffle, the proceeds of which were donated to Three Square. Three square was established to end hunger in the Las Vegas valley by providing wholesome, nutritious meals to non-profit organizations that serve a wide-range of Southern Nevadans in need.
Although Meeting Planner Resources, LLC has produced events similar in nature, this was the first to include a fundraising effort. “Although heavily involved in the community, this is the first time that our magazine has raised funds to benefit the local community” said Jennifer Mahar Mulder associate publisher of Meetings and Events Las Vegas Magazine. Donations were raised through the sale of raffle tickets. Two drawings were held during the event during which guests were awarded one of many enticing prizes donated by Meeting Planner Resources’ local industry partner including:
• Hyatt Place Las Vegas - one night stay.
• Hilton Grand Vacations - three day/two night stay.
• MiX in Las Vegas - dinner for two.
• Palm Restaurant - dinner for two and bottle of wine.
• Siena Golf Club - round of golf for two people.
• Arroyo Golf Club - round of golf for two people.
• Silverstone Golf Club - round of golf for four people.
• Jason’s Deli- $50 gift certificate.
• Ricardo’s Mexican Restaurant - $50 gift certificates.
• Paymon’s Mediterranean Café and Lounge - $25 gift certificate.
• Wild Truffles - 25 catered box lunches.
• Defending the Caveman - two sets of two complimentary show tickets and a Defending the Caveman bobble head.
The prizes proved enticing, ultimately raising hundreds of dollars to benefit Three Square. At the culmination of the event, the money was presented to Anna Johnson, a marketing coordinator for the organization. When asked how the money would be used, Johnson explained that the “equivalent to 1200 meals that our Agency Partners will be able to serve those in need in Southern Nevada” was raised. In that respect, the prize recipients not only walked away from the event feeling like winners, they also took pride in helping their community.
