LAS VEGAS HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2010 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

STACEY PURCELL WITH HARRAH’S LEADS TOURISM INDUSTRY ORGANIZATION
LAS VEGAS – April 13, 2009 – Stacey Purcell, national sales manager for Las Vegas Meetings Harrah’s Entertainment, is the 2010 president for the Las Vegas Hospitality Association (LVHA), a nearly 500-member Las Vegas tourism industry organization. Purcell’s goals as president this year are to provide “even more” value to the membership, meaningful networking opportunities and money for scholarships. “It’s truly an honor to be leading such a powerful and professional hospitality industry group,” said Purcell.
Purcell began her career with Harrah's Entertainment 19 years ago starting at Caesars Palace in catering, progressed to leisure sales and then to convention sales. In 2005, she became national sales manager for the Rio All-Suite Hotel, and in 2008, moved into the role of national sales manager for Bally's and Paris.
Purcell has been a board member with the Las Vegas Hospitality Association since 2005 holding positions as director vice president of meetings, president-elect, and now president. Purcell is also a member of Meeting Planners International, Chicago Chapter, and the UNLV Alumni Association.
Purcell, who was born and raised in Maui, Hawaii, graduated from University of Hawaii in 1986. She transferred to UNLV in 1988 and graduated with her BS in Hotel Administration in 1990.
