Gordon Biersch Celebrates Seasonal WinterBock Menu
For Immediate Release:
Gordon Biersch Celebrates the Season with Winter Comforts Including WinterBock Beer, Maker’s Mark and a Special Seasonal Menu for the Holidays

Menu to Include Special Maker’s Flat Iron Steak and Meatloaf, Traditional Chicken Pot Pie and Rocky Mountain Combo Favorites

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. (November 9, 2010) – Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant is ringing in the holiday season with their latest seasonal menu and WinterBock beer. From November 16th to December 26th, guests of the restaurant have the opportunity to try the latest innovative food and beverage items from the Gordon Biersch kitchen, brewery and bar. Guests also have the opportunity to spread holiday cheer to their friends, family, and co-workers by purchasing Gordon Biersch gift cards as stocking stuffers, while being rewarded with a gift certificate of their own as part of the holiday gift card promotion.

The cooling climate and the upcoming holiday season inspired Executive Chef Bill Heckler while he was conceptualizing this year’s menu. “Diners crave hearty, comforting food this time of year,” said Chef Heckler. “The limited-time-only WinterBock menu satisfies those cravings by combining traditional dishes with the innovative, bold flavors Gordon Biersch is known for.”

This season’s menu consists of four appetizers, six entrees and one dessert. The appetizers include Bison Sliders, Crispy Chicken Tenders, WinterBock Chili and the Rockies Combo Platter, which allows guests to try a variety of items on the menu. The entrées include the Bison Cheeseburger, Maker’s Flat Iron Steak, Maker’s Mountain Meatloaf, Traditional Chicken Pot Pie, Rainbow Trout and Jumbo Lump Crab and Garlic Sage Chicken. Back by popular demand, the Pumpkin Cheesecake rounds out the menu and is the ideal dessert to enjoy with a frosty mug of WinterBock.

Brewed onsite with the freshest ingredients, Gordon Biersch’s WinterBock beer is a full-bodied, yet refreshingly smooth, deep mahogany-hued lager. The birth of WinterBock-like beer happened in the 11th century when Bavarian monks brewed large vats of a strong, rich beer to keep warm and sustain themselves during long periods of fasting. Its slightly sweet creaminess balanced by subtle hop bitterness ensured the monks would fast frequently. This lager is the perfect complement to the new seasonal menu and is a holiday treat in its own right.

Guests at Gordon Biersch can also toast to a merry holiday with the new limited-time-only Kentucky Cool Cider, a crisp blend of Maker’s 46, cranberry and apple juices and housemade vanilla spiced cider. Also featured on the seasonal menu is the Maker’s 46 Old Fashioned, whose creamy oak flavors and notes of vanilla and caramel give this classic cocktail a modern twist.

Shoppers looking for the perfect gift can experience the joy of giving AND receiving by taking advantage of the holiday gift card promotion. Gift card purchasers are rewarded with a gift certificate of their very own when they check off their holiday shopping list at Gordon Biersch. When guests purchase $50 in gift cards, they will receive a $5 gift certificate; when they purchase $100 in gift cards, they will receive a $15 gift certificate; when they purchase $200 in gift cards they will receive a $30 gift certificate; and when they purchase $500 in gift cards, they will receive a $100 gift certificate.

To introduce the new winter promotion, locations will be hosting tapping parties for WinterBock beer. The parties are open to the public and attendees can sample the beer and tasters of the new seasonal menu items.
