Meetings & Events Las Vegas Hosts Spring Event at Vintner Grill Strip for the Meeting Planning Industry

Proceeds Raised Benefit Local Meeting Planner Molly Vincent
Las Vegas (May 23, 2011) — For the second time this year, Meetings & Events Las Vegas (MELV) held their quarterly event, a mixer soiree which brings event planners, hospitality vendors, and industry professionals together. Nearly 200 meeting professionals attended the Spring Event held at the recently opened Vintner Grill Strip at Neiman Marcus, proving again that the event planning industry is thriving in 2011.
Each quarterly event has a different theme but the same goal: connect meeting planner clients with hospitality suppliers and industry professionals. This seasons’ event at Vintner Grill Strip at Neiman Marcus allowed for attendees to mingle at their leisure in the elegant atmosphere above the luxury specialty retail department store at Fashion Show Mall. For many attendees, the MELV event was their first chance to experience the new venue, which is part of the Corrigan Restaurants portfolio, and see first hand why the location has received such rave reviews.
"We were thrilled to have hosted MELV at Vintner Grill Strip as part of our overall launch efforts; the support of their members has always been so important to us," said Michael Corrigan, owner and president of Corrigan Restaurants. "The opportunity to showcase the incredible views of the Strip and the venue flexibility along with our acclaimed cuisine and outstanding service was fantastic. I know attendees were especially interested to learn that we don't charge many of the traditional fees associated with private events on the Strip, and we've already received several calls from members. Overall, it was a great night."
Attendees where also treated to the vocal styling’s of musical artist J.C. which was provided by Soli Concepts Entertainment. J.C. is a Las Vegas native who has toured with national artists such as Jason Mraz, Boz Scaggs and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. His performance brought a fun and interactive energy to the room, adding to the overall mood of the evening.
Each year the proceeds raised through raffle prizes generously donated by many industry leaders help aid a charitable cause. This year’s recipient was long time meeting planner and local DMC Molly Vincent from A Vegas Expressions. Molly is need of a kidney transplant as a result of her Advanced IGA Nephropathy condition. The MELV event raised money with all proceeds to contribute to her medical expenses associated with the transplant.
Jane George, president of A Vegas Expression, shared her appreciation, “I wish to thank Meeting Planner Resources for their cash gift to help Molly Vincent with her expenses after receiving a kidney transplant at UMC Tucson. The generosity was above and beyond what Molly could have ever expected from her peers. While insurance covers most of the transplant the cost of staying in Tucson for a month after surgery is not covered and your gift has more than helped ease this burden. Thank you again for thinking of Molly at this time — we all wait her arrival back in Las Vegas with her health restored.”
