Meetings & Events Las Vegas Hosts Spring Event at Trump International Hotel for the Meeting Planning Industry
For Immediate Release:
Meetings & Events Las Vegas (MELV) held its second quarterly event of the year, a mixer that brings event planners, hospitality vendors and industry professionals together. Although each event has a different theme, the goal remains the same: to connect meeting planner clients with hospitality suppliers and industry professionals. More than 300 meeting professionals attended the spring event held at the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, once again proving that the event-planning industry is flourishing in 2012.
More than 100 guests took advantage of the pre-event tours of the luxury hotel where attendees were greeted with champagne and had the opportunity to view the guest suites, penthouse, spa and meeting spaces, each staged to showcase the unique possibilities of the hotel, from intimate board meetings to small conferences with breakout rooms. Marketing Manager for Trump International Hotel Las Vegas Jason Demuth comments, “We are pleased to have been given the opportunity to showcase our property to hundreds of qualified attendees who were genuinely interested in learning about our meeting and event space.”
Event Coordinator Sara Costanza of 21st Century Oncology attended the event and remarked, “The MELV event at the Trump Las Vegas was great. I’ve never been on the property before, and this was a great way to see the venues they offer as well as get the chance to meet new contacts. I’m always able to take something away from the events the MELV staff puts together.” After the champagne tours, the event continued poolside at the Trump Hotel Las Vegas, where more than 300 attendees mingled at their leisure.
“By partnering with a luxury brand hotel as our host venue for the Spring 2012 event,” says Associate Publisher Jennifer Mahar of Meetings & Events Las Vegas, “we were able to get out-of-state Privilege Partners and planners not only to attend the event but to experience the hotel before and after. We are excited about the integration of new event trends and technologies that assist in the overall attendee experience while still allowing our hospitality partners the opportunity to connect with qualified planners.” Also at the event were bonus services, such as professional shoe shining, liquor vendors, massages, bands and photo booths. “At every quarterly event, Meeting Planner Resources selects a local nonprofit organization to support,” says Mahar. The proceeds raised through a raffle of prizes generously donated by industry leaders help aid the charitable cause. This year’s recipient was Opportunity Village. This not-for-profit organization serves people with intellectual disabilities, providing them with vocational training, employment and social-recreation services that make their lives more productive and interesting. More than 1,000 people with disabilities benefit from the programs and services so they can work in jobs throughout the community, pay taxes and live more fulfilling lives.
“This event’s partners included The Mob Museum, Las Vegas Shoe Shine Girl, DSA Country SuperStars Show, Sky High Marketing, Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar, Hussong’s Cantina, Dream Racing™, Dollar Car Rental, The Palm Restaurant, Bootleg Canyon Flightlines, the National Atomic Testing Museum, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Trump International, Agile Tradeshow & Event Furnishings, Margaritaville Casino and Restaurant Las Vegas, Machine Guns Vegas, Café Rio, Flightlinez and Sky Combat Ace,” says Mahar. “All of our partners made some very generous donations and because of that we were able to raise enough money to enable Opportunity Village to continue to pursue its mission.”
“Trump Las Vegas was a wonderful host, including great food and entertainment,” says Opportunity Village Fund Development and Community Outreach Manager Dawn Newburg. “The raffle was very popular with several great prizes won by all. I would like to thank all of the MELV members that participated in the raffle. The proceeds from the raffle… directly support the job-training and job-placement programs we provide for our 1,700 clients. Thank you again for all of your support.”
With the continued success of the quarterly events, Meetings & Events Las Vegas anxiously is awaiting the summer 2012 mixer, scheduled for August 2, 2012. Shortly, you will be able to register for this summer’s event at www.MeetingsAndEventsLasVegas.com/rsvp/. Stay tuned for more details.
