When Star Exhibits needed to implement a new high-resolution video wall for Whirlpool and Jen-Air appliances at the International Home Builders Show in Las Vegas, they turned to Evident Productions’ own Creative Specialist Peter Blue for technical advice and experience.
“Audio visual can be a very unpredictable element within an exhibit and Evident made it a worry free and flawless experience,” said Amy Restad, Star Exhibits Accounts and On Site Project Manager. “We are very pleased with the level of service that was provided and will not hesitate to utilize their services again.”
Blue helped Star employees install the new NX-4 video wall released by BARCO last year. This brand new LED display technology has extremely high resolution for media content. The wall measured approximately 12 – feet-wide by 4-feet-tall and was at the center of the highly acclaimed new Jen-Air product demo. With high definition media that was streamed to the wall via customized Blu-Ray content, the spectacular imagery attracted a constant flow of onlookers over the three-day exhibit.
“The content being streamed included interviews with key leaders and consultants in the high end kitchen design and architectural world,” Blue said. “The NX-4 video wall produced such a high-resolution image that you could see a stray hair on one of the speaker’s shoulders. Most people didn’t notice it as they walked by, but it amazed those of us involved with the install that you could see EVERY little detail.”
Blue consulted with Star Exhibits on the initial design and walked the company’s booth designer, account executive, and on-site staff through the installation, operation and dismantling of the video wall.
“With such a precise and high definition wall like the NX-4, every detail has to be checked and rechecked to make sure everything is where it should be,” Blue said. “I worked with Adrian (the booth designer) to insure a flawless installation of the wall. From adding in additional circulation and cooling for the video wall, to adding in extra support in the customized support frame created for the weight of the wall, we made sure every detail was considered.
“This wall is so precise and delicate that if a person’s hand touches the wrong part you could permanently damage the wall, causing headaches and unexpected costs,” Blue continued. “Realizing that and communicating that to the local crew was crucial. In the end, after understanding how the wall had to be handled, the crew did a fantastic job and the install and dismantle went flawlessly.”
“The convention attracted nearly 100,000 attendees, and everyone who walked by the exhibit was amazed at the video wall,” Restad said. “The goal for our display was to bring my client’s products to a super premium level, utilizing Evident and the NX-4 equipment did just that.”
Blue impressed Restad by taking extra initiative to help out in other areas of the booth as needed by Star’s technical staff, and offering to stay on-call over the weekend conference in case to help in a pinch. “Peter performed above and beyond our expectations,” Restad said. “He worked really well with my crew.”

While Evident could focus on keeping the quality control and operation level at it’s best, Star was able to rebrand the products and services that Evident could uniquely provide to their client in a seamless process that made everyone a winner.
