Getting to and Around Las Vegas
If you’re looking for a car that’s even more special, Fantasy Car Rentals offers the ultimate in classic Las Vegas style with cars like a vintage Cadillac with fins, 1936 Ford Model A, 1932 Ford Hi-Boy and 1957 Nomad. If you’re worried about people knowing it’s just a rental, some companies like Vegas Luxury Rides does not place any advertising on any vehicle in its fleet so only you know it’s not your own car.

For this truly high-rolling experience with Las Vegas style, the following companies are just a few that let drivers take the wheel of one of these exotic beauties and hit the open road:
  • Dream Car Rentals: (702) 307-1770, www.dreamcarrentals.com
  • Fantasy Car Rentals: (702) 835-7777, www.fantasycarrentals.com
  • Las Vegas Exotic Rentals: (866) 871-1893, www.vegasexoticrentals.com
  • Vegas Luxury Rides: (866) 751-8777, www.vegasluxuryrides.com

Naturally every company’s policies vary slightly, but for the most part, the following details, rules and regulations apply across the board. Contact each company individually to find out more. When renting one of these vehicles, make sure you know all of the contract specifics, restrictions and any cancellation policies and fees that apply.

Age Restrictions:
All drivers must be at least 21 years of age, but to drive some of the more exotic cars, drivers must be at least 25; there often is a significant surcharge applied for drivers under that age.

Insurance Requirements: To protect the drivers, it is important that the company is licensed, registered and insured with the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. However, the daily rental rates do not include any insurance coverage for the car under the assumption that the renter is responsible for the full value of the vehicle. That being said, drivers must present proof of valid liability and collision insurance before taking possession of the vehicle. Some companies do provide the option of higher rates that include extra damage coverage for some vehicles.

Length of Rental: Exotic car rentals can be made by the hour, in four- to 12-hour blocks, by the day or by the week. Several companies offer a 15-minute grace period for rental returns, but extra charges apply for going much beyond that, and there typically are no refunds for early returns.

Maximum Distance:
Most rental agreements specify a maximum mileage allowance per day and apply extra charges for going over that can range from $0.50–$2.00 per mile. Although particular vehicles are not permitted to leave the Las Vegas area, some companies allow drivers to take the some of the cars anywhere within Nevada and the adjacent states (Arizona, California and Utah) as long as the vehicle returns to Las Vegas. However, no companies allow the vehicles to be taken off paved roads or to Mexico at any time.

Reservations:
As with most rentals, reservations are highly recommended at least 48 hours in advance, especially if you have a particular car in mind since availability can be limited. Some companies also require a security deposit at the time of reservation, but not always. However, driver’s must present a valid drivers license and major credit card upon receiving the vehicle.

Pickup and Drop-Off:
Many of the companies offer free shuttle service to transport you to the car’s location, but some companies also will arrange to bring the car to you anywhere in Las Vegas for free or for a charge. Vehicle drop-off also can be arranged where you receive your car or at the rental facility depending on the company.

If you or your clients meet these requirements and really want to get those motors running, what better place to experience the exotic driving dream of a lifetime than in Las Vegas?

Las Vegas Monorail
For those visitors who don’t want to rent a car and drive and park everywhere or incur the mounting expenses of hiring taxis or a limo for everywhere they go in Las Vegas, there is another, more economical option for getting around the Strip: the Las Vegas Monorail system.

Known as one of the most advanced urban transportation systems in the world and the only privately owned public transportation system in the United States, the Las Vegas Monorail is a seven-stop, elevated train system available to the public. It travels a 3.9-mile route that connects major hotels and attractions along the Las Vegas Strip. It takes up to 3,200 passengers per hour the length of the famous resort corridor from the Sahara Station to the MGM Grand Station in 15 minutes or less in a safe, clean and climate-controlled environment.

Originally envisioned as a joint venture between MGM Grand and Bally’s to create a one-mile transportation system between the hotels, the forward-thinking monorail began in 1993 and quickly included plans for expansion to other locations along the Strip. In 1997, the system became public under the ownership of a private company, and in 2000, the nonprofit Las Vegas Monorail Company (LVMC) formed and acquired the system, which now is governed by a board of directors and a president and CEO who oversees the management of the monorail’s day-to-day operations and expansion plans.

As of 2011, the Las Vegas Monorail had helped remove approximately 2.2 million vehicle miles from Southern Nevada’s major roadways, which has reduced emissions by more than 35 tons of harmful carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds and nitrogen oxides in a year. The monorail also features the first fully automated control network system for driverless operation and incorporates fail-safe protection throughout its software and equipment, making it one of the most technologically advanced urban transportation systems in the world.
